Sir Keir Starmer plans to press supporting countries to deliver Ukraine with more advanced missile systems to target Russian targets during a meeting in the UK capital on the upcoming Friday.

Britain's leader plans to receive Ukraine's leader Zelensky alongside the so-called "alliance of supportive nations", comprising more than 20 of Ukraine's allies who have agreed to provide Ukraine protection commitments once fighting stops is negotiated.

Zelensky has been appealing for weeks for further long-range weapons from allied countries, a step that the Russian government has warned would worsen the hostilities.

President Zelensky is coming from Belgium, where he conferred with EU leaders on yesterday seeking funding aid.

Britain's leader will encourage participants to ramp up the delivery of advanced missile technology following an effective attack on a chemical plant in the Russian city, the Russian Federation, using UK-provided advanced weaponry.
